EU research funds have been a very important source of funding for Israeli academics, corporations, and state institutions, among them a number of military companies and those involved in illegal Israeli settlements. Although Israel is not an EU country, since 1995 Israeli applicants have been able to access EU research funds on the same basis as EU member states through the EU- Israel Association Agreement.

The Palestinian Day of Return: from a short day of commemoration to a long day of mourning

On Friday, March 30, 2018, marking the 42nd anniversary of Land Day — when Israeli forces killed six Palestinians during protests against land confiscation in 1976 —Palestinians in the Gaza Strip marched to the eastern border with Israel beginning a six-week protest — what they termed the Great March of Return. It was the bloodiest day in Gaza since the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict.

RIPE FOR ABUSE, Palestinian Child Labor in Israeli Agricultural Settlements in the West Bank

Hundreds of Palestinian children work on Israeli settlement farms in the occupied West Bank, the majority located in the Jordan Valley. This report documents rights abuses against Palestinian children as young as 11 years old, who earn around US $19 for a full day working in the settlement agricultural industry. Many drop out of school and work in conditions that can be hazardous due to pesticides, dangerous equipment, and extreme heat.
